Chris Johnston Wins Not-Liable Verdict in Rear-End Accident Defense
Querrey & Harrow Shareholder Chris Johnston obtained a not guilty verdict on behalf of a defendant who rear-ended the plaintiff in Downers Grove Illinois on June 12, 2013.
The plaintiff claimed, after being removed from the scene by ambulance and seen at good Samaritan Hospital emergency room that he had not only neck and head complaints but clicking and locking in his knee that he had never experienced beforehand. He subsequently received therapy and 12 days after the incident an MRI showed a vertical/complex tear of this right posterior medial meniscus. He claimed that he struck his knee on the dash at the time of the collision. Three months later he had arthroscopic knee surgery that his surgeon testified was related to the collision. He claimed over $18,000 of medical bills and $16,000 in lost time/wages and requested $184,000 from the jury.
Despite admitting that the defendant was at fault for causing the accident, the jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendant with no award of damages to the plaintiff.Zoom Lebron Soldiers IX 9latest Running Sneakers | Sneakers Nike Shoes
