David E. Neumeister focuses on corporate governance, regulatory, transactional and risk management with a particular emphasis on the insurance industry. David is a former property and casualty insurance company General Counsel and is an experienced insurance and appellate litigator with extensive and diversified experience in bringing legal counsel and practical business solutions to his clients. David has experience in all aspects of corporate governance functions, including corporate formations, structuring and licensing, risk management, compliance and day-to-day governance issues working in conjunction with C-suite officers, boards of directors and committees.
David has significant expertise within the insurance and reinsurance industries in both the U.S. and internationally, providing compliance, transactional, and dispute resolution counseling and services. David also brings deep expertise in appellate litigation services, including working with trial counsel to formulate and preserve issues for potential appeal and leading appellate court litigation.
David served as the head of the Insurance Law and Appellate Practice groups at Querrey & Harrow before becoming Sr. Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of HDI Global Insurance Company, the U.S. subsidiary of the Talanx Group, an international insurance holding company based in Hannover, Germany, operating in more than 150 countries. He served in that role for 11 years until rejoining Querrey & Harrow.
David has a B.A. from the University of Iowa and earned his J.D. from DePaul University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Illinois, the Supreme Court of the United States of America, and the Law Society of England & Wales.
