Our Clients
We assist institutions and health professionals insured by Illinois’ largest professional liability insurers and also represent a wide variety of self-insured medical/surgical and psychiatric hospitals ranging from large teaching institutions to smaller, community-based hospitals, and nursing homes. We regularly handle issues for medically trained professionals such as physicians, radiologists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and psychiatrists, among others.
Our Services
We provide defense of negligence claims and claims before the IDPR, as well as negotiation, contracting, real estate, estate planning and certain transactional services to our health care clients.
Our attorneys provide counseling and training to individual practitioners, small to mid-size medical practices, and large institutions on employment issues and medical legal issues including termination of life support, consent, EMTALA, HIPPA, and medical staff privileging.
Our Attorneys
Querrey & Harrow’s Health Care Group is composed of experienced health care and trial lawyers with extensive training and formal education in complex health care issues. This group includes medically trained professionals such as a medical technologist and a nurse. All of our attorneys in this area are trained to communicate medical terms and theories effectively to their clients, witnesses, and jurors.
Our attorneys have developed in-house systems to stay current on medical technology, legal, and social economic issues significant to the health care community. We also actively participate in continuing education programs and seminars in health care law and furnish loss prevention and risk management presentations to health care providers.
We recognize that while medical malpractice claims have become an unfortunate part of health care services in our litigious society, the first priority of the medical professional is the practice of medicine.
