Querrey & Harrow is proud to announce the election of Jonathan Irwin, Shannon Holbrook and Brian Begley to the position of Shareholders in the firm.
Jonathan Irwin works in the Chicago office and previously managed the Firm's Lake County office. Mr. Irwin has handled class action/mass tort litigation in both state and federal courts on a national basis. He is an experienced trial lawyer and has defended over 90 cases to jury verdict. He has maintained an excellent track record, having obtained either defense verdicts or verdicts below the plaintiff’s demand in more than 80% of the cases tried.
Mr. Irwin concentrates his practice in commercial, product liability, premises liability, and construction litigation including construction defect claims. Previously, he has defended automobile and premises liability claims, as well as represented corporations in breach of contract litigation and corporate buy-out issues.
Mr. Irwin earned his JD from Valparaiso University (1989), and his BA from Houghton College (1985). He is a member of the Lake County and Illinois State Bar Associations. Mr. Irwin is a resident of Mundelein, Illinois.

Shannon Holbrook came to Querrey & Harrow in 2006 after spending the first five years of his legal career with a litigation firm in Memphis, Tennessee. While there he primarily represented a large, regional hospital system defending medical malpractice claims and other litigation matters brought against the system’s hospitals. Today, Mr. Holbrook concentrates his practice in health care liability where he has significant experience in the defense of medical malpractice claims against hospitals, physicians, and other health care professionals.
Mr. Holbrook's experience also includes the defense of premises liability and other personal injury matters, as well as counseling hospitals and other professionals in the health care industry in the prevention of claims against them and medical charting issues. He has also been involved in a number of state and federal appellate court decisions involving medical malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, and other professional liability claims.
Mr. Holbrook earned his JD, cum laude, from the University of Memphis School of Law (2000) and his BS, cum laude, from Appalachian State University (1995). He is licensed to practice in both Illinois and Tennessee. He is a member of the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society as well as the Illinois State and American Bar Associations. Mr. Holbrook is a resident of Wheaton, Illinois with his wife, Jennifer, and his son, Henry.

Brian Begley joined Querrey & Harrow after serving as an Associate at another local law firm where his practice concentrated on representation of municipal entities and local school districts, including local police and fire commissions. He also served as an Administrative Hearing Officer where he adjudicated local municipal code violations.
At present, Mr. Begley concentrates his practice in municipal and premises liability. Mr. Begley previously served as an Assistant State's Attorney in the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where he tried numerous cases in the traffic and narcotics divisions. Mr. Begley also served in the Civil Actions Bureau, representing Cook County in complex building and zoning matters.
Mr. Begley earned his JD from DePaul University College of Law (2003) and his BS at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1999). He is a member of the Illinois, Chicago, Kankakee County, Will County, South Suburban, and Southwest Suburban Bar Associations. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Joliet Area Young Professionals, a member of the Joliet, Shorewood and Plainfield Chambers of Commerce, and a member of the Will County Governmental League. Mr. Begley is a resident of Orland Park, Illinois.
