
Matthew J. Daley concentrates his practice in municipal liability, workers’ compensation, and employment and labor. He also handles criminal defense matters.
Mr. Daley’s experience with municipalities includes advising suburban planning and zoning boards, resolving claims involving damages to utilities, and handling grievance hearings relating to collective bargaining agreements. He has actively promoted crime-free ordinances for municipalities and has presented seminars designed to educate residents on the costs and benefits of establishing these community enhancement measures.
In his workers’ compensation practice, Mr. Daley has extensive experience handling arbitration hearings before the Illinois Worker’s Compensation Commission, including the review and appeal process.
Prior to joining Querrey & Harrow, Mr. Daley served as an Assistant State’s Attorney for the Cook County State’s Attorneys Office. As a prosecutor, Mr. Daley tried hundreds of cases to verdict through both bench and jury trials, having prosecuted crimes in the Public Interest Bureau, Domestic Violence Division and the Sixth Municipal District.
