
R. Scott Rochelle concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, construction, and school law. In his construction practice, Mr. Rochelle represents utilities and contractors in high-exposure construction and loss claims. In his school law practice, he takes a proactive stance on his clients' behalf, uses innovative ideas to move disputes toward resolution, and has dealt with a myriad of issues facing today’s education system. His school law practice includes , but is not limited to counseling school districts on labor and conduct issues and compliance with state and federal special education laws.
During law school, Scott served as a law clerk in the Office of the University Counsel at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus, where he worked closely with the university’s attorneys on large litigation matters involving civil rights, premises liability, and labor disputes.
In May 2004, Scott earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, concentrating on educational policy analysis. While at the College of Education, Scott served as a Summer Research Opportunities Research Fellow, a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow, and a Graduate College Fellow, concentrating his research in the complexities of policy analysis within our nation’s education system.
As an undergraduate Scott participated in a year-long study abroad program, where he participated in international student exchanges at La Universidad de La Habana, Cuba and the Peking University in Beijing, China.
Prior to joining Querrey & Harrow, Scott served as a judicial clerk in the Office of the Honorable E. Kenneth Wright, Presiding Judge of the First Municipal District in the Circuit Court of Cook County.
