James S. Jendryk, Shareholder

James Jendryk is the managing partner of Querrey & Harrow’s Wheaton office.  He concentrates his legal practice in commercial, construction, personal injury, and medical malpractice and nursing home litigation.  He searches for innovative methods to resolve cases including substantial use of alternative dispute resolution and structured settlements.

He has tried approximately 100 jury cases to verdict with more than 90% of such verdicts being favorable to his client. In addition, he obtained similar results with bench trials involving, among other things, insurance coverage and contracts.  He has prepared briefs and argued cases in the Illinois Appellate Court.  Mr. Jendryk has vast experience in different county courts having handled cases in Cook, Du Page, Kane, Kendall, DeKalb, Joliet and Kankakee.  He is AV® Preeminent ™ Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

He has lectured for the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education on the topic of medical and scientific depositions as well as general tort related and medically related topics, i.e. fibromyalgia.

Mr. Jendryk is qualified as a Chairperson Arbitrator for the Du Page County Mandatory Arbitration System and has also been appointed by the Chief Judge as a mediator in Du Page County’s Court-Annexed Mediation Program.

Mr. Jendryk is a former member of the Du Page County Bar Association Board of Directors and past Chairman of the Du Page County Medical-Legal Committee and a former member of the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee.

Representative Matters

Mr. Jendryk has handled liability lawsuits for national insurance corporations and retailers, as well as medical malpractice actions involving physicians and nursing homes.  In fact, he has been successful in every premises liability case he has handled which involved injuries caused by a fall.

Mr. Jendryk has seen the gamut of fact patterns in personal injury claims, from matters of admitted liability where the claimant received nothing to those of apparent "no fault" where the sympathetic nature of the witnesses swayed the jury to award damages.  He has had success on a writ of replevin where he recovered a small plane for his client.  He has had success in medical malpractice matters; mostly recently, one involving an uncommon bacterial infection, and another involving alleged misdiagnosis of a heart condition.
