Scott Krider has extensive experience in helping business owners and individuals resolve disputes. He has tried more than twenty cases to a jury verdict. Mr. Krider’s commercial litigation experience includes breach of contract, fraud, misrepresentation, warranty, business interference and defamation claims. He frequently assists contractors, subcontractors and owners recover the balance due through mechanics liens and bond claims. He has written articles and lectured on construction claims, mechanics liens, and litigation strategies.
Mr. Krider serves as chair of the firm's real estate litigation practice. His experience includes breach of real estate contract and construction contract disputes. He has tried real estate cases involving violations of the Residential Real Property Disclosure Act and fraud. He has recovered unpaid fees for condominium boards and successfully tried a claim of mortgage broker fraud. In construction litigation, he has helped owners, contractors, and architects resolve both personal injury and construction defect claims. He has helped individuals and title companies resolve real estate title disputes. He has experience with mediations, arbitrations and trials of construction and real estate disputes.

Commercial Litigation
- Represented largest gaming company in the world in breach of contract matter to recover lost profits
- Represented individuals in fraudulent transfer claim to recover lost funds from surviving spouse of con artist
- Represented corporation in claim against software and phone system vendor for breach of contract and fraud, recovering repair and business interruption damages
- Successfully arbitrated breach of boat purchase contract
Construction Litigation
- Obtained a jury verdict of not guilty for a construction contractor in a claim for personal injuries filed by a prominent plaintiff’s personal injury firm
- Represented one of the Midwest’s largest iron erectors in recovering the amount due the contractor under Mechanics Lien Act and Bond Act
- Represents precast panel contractor in recovering amount due, including sale of the property to satisfy a substantial judgment against the owner, under the Mechanics Lien Act
- Represented contractors in property defect and/or workmanship claims involving ironwork, grading, shoring, masonry and roofing
Real Estate Litigation
- Represented homeowner who rescinded real estate contract and recovered amount paid for purchase of a home with toxic mold
- Obtained a judgment for a homeowner against sellers for violation of the Residential Real Property Disclosure Act, recovering all repair costs and legal fees
- Obtained a judgment for an owner of commercial real estate for breach of contract and fraud, including recovery of actual, punitive and legal fees for mortgage broker fraud
- Assisted title companies and individuals in resolving quiet title claims
- Represented home owner who recovered costs to correct and complete defective work
