Jennifer J. Sackett Pohlenz represents local governments, private and publicly traded corporations, and individuals in a wide array of environmental law issues.  Ms. Sackett Pohlenz is the chair of Querrey & Harrow’s Environmental Practice Group.

Ms. Sackett Pohlenz is licensed in Illinois and Indiana and is responsible for representing clients in administrative actions, litigation, and transactional matters.  Additionally, she advises clients with respect to compliance with many of the federal and state laws and regulations, such as CERCLA, RCRA, AHERA, NESHAP, CAA, CWA, Endangered Species Act, EPCRA, and the Illinois Environmental Protection Act.  She has also represented clients in matters including, but not limited to:

• common law litigation involving, most commonly, trespass and nuisance;
• injunction and declaratory judgment actions involving environmental conditions;
• litigation involving the state and federal constitution;
• alternative energy projects;
• sustainable or green development;
• the drafting of environmental ordinances and solid waste contracts;
• the negotiation and drafting of host benefit agreements for new pollution control facilities and highway authority agreements insurance coverage actions, involving coverage for environmental conditions at a site; and
• bankruptcy matters, involving transfer of permits and air rights.

Ms. Sackett Pohlenz speaks regularly on environmental and construction law matters.
