Jennifer J. Sackett Pohlenz, Shareholder

Jennifer J. Sackett Pohlenz represents local governments, private and publicly traded corporations, and individuals in a wide array of environmental law issues from litigation to compliance and transactional matters.  Ms. Sackett Pohlenz is the chair of our Environmental Practice Group.

She is responsible for representing clients in administrative actions and litigation; property transactions; Brownfields investigation and remediation; Superfund matters; permitting matters; and pollution control facility site location proceedings.  Additionally, she advises clients with respect to compliance with many of the federal and state laws and regulations, including CERCLA, RCRA, CAA, CWA, Endangered Species Act, EPCRA, and the Illinois Environmental Protection Act.  In addition, Ms. Sackett Pohlenz has represented clients in insurance coverage actions, involving coverage for environmental conditions at a site; bankruptcy matters, involving transfer of permits and air rights; common law litigation involving trespass and nuisance; injunction and declaratory judgment actions involving environmental conditions; and the drafting of environmental ordinances, contracts, and host fee agreements for new pollution control facilities.

Ms. Sackett Pohlenz speaks regularly on environmental and construction law matters and, most recently, she spoke concerning Solid Waste Management Plans at a local Solid Waste Association of North America local chapter meeting and concerning mechanic lien litigation at a Lorman seminar in the Fall of 2006.
