James R. Baller is an experienced trial attorney with over 50 cases tried to verdict. He has worked trying personal injury cases on behalf of plaintiffs and has defended the interests of companies accused of wrongdoing. He has experience in Cook County as well as collar counties and other parts of the state. His background gives him a unique perspective and understanding to the strategic thinking on both sides of cases.
Like all trial lawyers, Jim is always ready to impanel a jury, however, he also recognizes the efficiencies of alternative dispute resolution in the right cases. To that end, he has served as an arbitrator in the Cook County Arbitration program for many years and has successfully chaired dozens of cases to resolution through the arbitration process, giving him another perspective on case presentation strategy.
A proud Hawkeye, Jim did both his undergraduate and law school work at the University of Iowa. In his spare time, he enjoys music, literature, and all things outdoors.
