Anthony J. Madormo has practiced in many areas of law including: premises liability, product liability, construction litigation, mechanics lien, and commercial and business disputes. A significant percentage of his current practice involves representing large retail companies in defending all aspects of premises liability claims, including construction negligence, false arrest, civil rights, assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution claims. He has also defended numerous security guard companies in similar civil litigation in federal and state court. Mr. Madormo has had significant success in obtaining summary judgment in these types of cases.

Mr. Madormo’s experience in construction matter includes: contract review and drafting; commercial matters; mechanics lien litigation; and defending contractor in construction injury cases.

Mr. Madormo also has extensive experience in insurance coverage litigation involving: general liability policies; excess coverage issues; environmental coverage disputes; and first party insurance issues. Mr. Madormo has represented both insureds and insurers in all areas of coverage litigation. He is also a regular lecturer at construction lien seminars. He is a member of the Illinois Bar Association and the Illinois Association of Defense Counsel.

Mr. Madormo is a regular CLE speaker in-house and at numerous seminars including: the “Construction Law for Public Projects”, March 2014; “Construction Lien Law”, 1998 – present; “Everything A Construction Player Should Know About Insurance” seminar in January 2013 and March 2008; and “Constructions Sites in the Urban Environment; Damages to Adjacent Structures”; October 2007.

While attending John Marshall Law School, he was a member of the John Marshall Law Review and an editor of the Securities Exchange Law Journal.
